Draft Saturday Ride Schedule 2010 9/02/2010
For those that want a little forward-planning, here is a draft of our ride schedule leading into Mooloolaba Tri and Port Macquarie Ironman. As always, most rides will have 3 separate coaches and the weekends with no organised rides, a recovery spin is recommended. Please note this is open to change and/or bribes. Other coaches without original ideas are welcome to use this schedule!
Australian Triathlon Champion - Jan Avery-Spoor 9/02/2010
After numerous strong placings at the Australian Triathlon Championships over the last few seasons, Jan finally made it to the top of the podium last Sunday. She now is the current Aussie Champ in her age group, which is a just reward for one of the squads hardest. Joining Jan in the top 10 were Emily Glegg, 6th and Louise OSullivan, 10th in their respective age groups.

Goat Track 14/01/2010
There will be three 3 groups going to Mt Nebo this Saturday - via Goat Track. Unlike other times we will not be riding out as one group but rather breaking into three groups from when we leave Regatta. For those who have never ridden the Goat Track before, it is actually the quickest climb to Nebo – though it just happens to be on dirt. All are welcome to come and challenge yourself this Saturday.
Cycling Quiz 14/01/2010
As promised, given there is no organised group rides for the next 10 days or so, here is a 10 question quiz to keep your mind sharp on all things cycling at Fidler Sports. The most creative answers sent to Troy will be posted on the website.
5km Christmas Classic Results 23/12/2009
This year we used a new course for our annual handicapped 5km Christmas Classic (though it was actually 5.1km). Well done to all who ran, especially the numerous pbs. Laura Ritson won the prize for the line honours and Milo and Fabio shared the prize for the best dressed. Special guest Pete Foster made a comeback with the fastest time. Click on the link to see the results.
Xmas Gift Idea 13/12/2009
Here’s a great idea for a Christmas present for masters athletes – a world-first book that brings the science of sport to older athletes in a language that is easy to understand. The book is titled The Masters Athlete and has been written by respected sport scientist and masters athlete Associate Professor Peter Reaburn, a winner of the Australian Ironman Triathlon (50-54 years) Championship – man who practices what he preaches. The book has an associated website that has free fact sheets, a blog (Professor Pete’s Musings), and research updates available for a small fee.
City Blitz - B105 Christmas Appeal 7/12/2009
We have been contacted by the Royal Childrens Foundation to assist with the B105 Christmas Appeal which raises funds for the Childrens hospital. Essentially for two days they are taking over the city, pairing up, shaking a tin or selling some Chrissy Merchandise on a street corner, all over the city for a few hours at a time. The collection days are Tuesday 8 December from 3.30pm until 6.15pm and Tuesday 15 December from 6.00am until 9.15am. Each staff member is paired up with a volunteer and allocated a city street corner or train station to collect at. If you are able to help this worthy cause, please email Stuart Fitzpatrick at stuartf@workingwonders.com.au.
Christmas Concert - Simon Gardner Music 7/12/2009

Noosa Triathlon - Results Now Available! 2/11/2009
We had a massive showing at the weekends Noosa Triathlon with nearly 60 competitors taking part. Special mention to El Presidente, Grant Titman who led by example and won his category. Not to be outdone, Margo Mackintosh also finished first with the help of her new Trek and wetsuit. Other category places included old Marto who just beat smart Marto into second place and Christine Bell who finally showed glimpses of her potential to make a podium finish as well. One of the youngest squad members, Alice Manchon (Milo) has had a great start to her first season to finish third. Fabio even backed up with tired legs from Saturdays crit to finish a respectable 6th. If your name is not on the list and you raced, please let Troy know and we will add you to the list. Thank you to Todd Gibbons who trawled through the thousands of competitors to compile this list.
